Happy 2017, Dear Friends!

How blessed are we that we have been given 365 more days and 365 more chances to fulfill God's call for our lives? I pray that your 2017 will be filled with wonder, blessings, and adventure! 2017 . . . We've got this!

I am so happy to release the January 2017 Scripture Writing; NEW SEASONS.

New Year. New Seasons. Bible Study. Scripture Writing

Why Scripture Writing?

Inscribing or writing the word has become such an important part of my Bible study. You can find my original post about how I started HERE. The practice of Scripture Writing allows me to focus on the Word without distraction. It focuses me to quiet my heart and mind to see the Lord. It has taught me how to hear His voice more clearly.

Spending fifteen minutes a day copying the Word of God has led me to speak more confidently, write more freely, and bless others.

What do you need?

If this is your first time Scripture Writing, you don't need much to get you started. A Bible (you can find my favorite Coloring Bible here, plus this post on why I love the Inspire Bible!), some pens, and a journal. If you are interested in the INSCRIBE THE WORD journals, you can click here to purchase yours.

Of course, you can add stickers, artistic designs, pretty colors, whatever makes you happy. As long as you are Inscribing the Word on your heart as well as your journal.

What is the vision behind Inscribe the Word?

This year, I changed the name of the Scripture Writing plans from Open My Eyes to INSCRIBE THE WORD. I wanted them to clearly represent Proverbs 3:1-3. This verse is the vision behind these plans and changing the name just seemed to fit.

“My child, do not forget my law, But let your heart keep my commands; For length of days and long life And peace they will add to you. Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart." Proverbs 3:1-3

I don't know about you, but I would love to have long days, long life, and peace to follow me! INSCRIBE THE WORD was birthed out of this verse. I want to write the Scriptures this year on the tablet of my heart. I want to bind them around my neck so as never to forget them

The word INSCRIBE means, "write or carve (words or symbols) on something, especially as a formal or permanent record."

Let us not just write the words in our journals to put on the shelf. I pray that we don't make this Bible Study just a ritual or burdensome "to-do". I want to CARVE THE WORD on my heart. I want it to permanently change who I am. I want it to be a permanent reminder of who God is and what He has done.

I want my heart to be like God's personal journal, where He can Inscribe His words to me making them permanent with each stroke of his pen. If He can write my name on the palms of His hands, then I want Him to write His words on my heart. (Isaiah 49:16)

My friends, God has been so gracious to bless us with a new year, a new life, and a new season. Let us honor Him this year by making a firm commitment to spending time each day with Him.

Happy New Year, my dears. Let's choose to make this an amazing year for the glory of God!
